Privacy Policy
What personal information artikle.in collects, why we need it, who sees it and how you control it.
Who we are
Artikle Publishing ("we") operates artikle.in, its journals and its research tools. We are the data fiduciary for the personal data described here, under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email address, phone number (optional), institution, designation, role and the profile information you choose to add.
- Manuscripts, revisions and related files you submit, and the editorial record of their review and publication.
- For editorial board members: designation, institution, institutional email and postal address, shown on the journal's board as journals are required to do.
- Payment references from our payment processor (Razorpay). We never see or store your card, UPI PIN or bank login.
- Usage information: pages viewed, downloads, approximate device type and IP address, used for article statistics, fraud prevention and security.
Why we use it
- To run your account and to process submissions, similarity checks, peer review, publication, certificates and invoices.
- To send service emails about your account, papers, reviews and payments, and the research digest if you subscribed to it (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- To show article statistics, protect the platform from abuse and meet legal and accounting obligations.
What is public
Published papers with their authors' names and affiliations, ArTKL identifiers and certificates (through the verify page), and editorial board profiles are public. Reviewer identities are never shown to authors. Board members' emails are shown in a form that automated harvesters cannot read; personal emails and phone numbers are never published.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers needed to run the platform - hosting, email delivery, payment processing (Razorpay), similarity checking and identifier registration (for example Crossref for DOIs) - under confidentiality, or when the law requires it. Manuscripts sent for similarity checking are checked and not added to any third-party repository.
Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and a security cookie against form forgery. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept while your account is open. Published papers and their editorial record are kept permanently as part of the scholarly record. Payment and invoice records are kept as long as Indian tax law requires. Unpublished manuscripts of closed accounts are deleted, except where needed to handle a dispute or a misconduct case.
Your rights
- Access and correct your information from your dashboard, or ask us for a copy.
- Withdraw consent for optional processing (such as the digest) and ask us to erase data we no longer need.
- Nominate a person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity.
- Complain to our grievance officer (below), and then to the Data Protection Board of India.
Security
Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, connections use HTTPS, private files (manuscripts, certificates, invoices) are served only to signed-in people who may see them, and staff accounts use two-step sign-in.
Children
artikle.in is meant for researchers, students in higher education and professionals. Users under 18 should use it with the consent and guidance of a parent, guardian or teacher.
