Open access policy

Free to read. Free to share. Free to build upon.

Every paper published on artikle.in is immediately and permanently free for anyone in the world to read - no subscription, no paywall, no login required.

What is open access?

Open Access (OA) is a publishing model where research outputs are made freely available online, without charge to the reader and without most copyright restrictions. The core principle is simple: publicly funded research should be publicly accessible.

Traditional academic publishing locks research behind expensive journal subscriptions - often costing institutions millions of rupees per year. Researchers in smaller colleges, independent scholars and students in developing regions are effectively excluded from the latest research in their field.

artikle.in follows the Gold Open Access model: papers are published open access at the point of publication, with no embargo period.

Creative Commons licensing

CC BY 4.0 - Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International. Anyone can read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full texts of articles - as long as they credit the original author.

Under CC BY 4.0, users are free to:

  • Share - copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
  • Adapt - remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially
  • Read - access the full text without any registration or subscription

The only requirement is that appropriate credit is given to the original author and a link to the licence is provided. Authors retain full copyright of their work.

Author rights and earnings

Authors retain copyright

You keep full copyright of your work. artikle.in does not acquire exclusive rights. You are free to post your paper on your personal website, institutional repository or ResearchGate.

Authors earn from downloads

While papers are free to read, authors can choose to sell the formatted PDF download. 80% of every download fee goes directly to the author.

Open access and earnings: if you choose open access for your paper, readers download it for free and you waive the download fee. If you choose paid download, readers can still read the paper online but pay to download the PDF, with 80% going to you.
