What you can do without asking permission

Under CC BY 4.0 the following uses are permitted as long as you credit the original author and link to the source article:

• Read and download any open access article for personal or professional use
• Share the article link by email, social media or messaging
• Print copies for personal reading or classroom use
• Include excerpts or figures in your own research papers, with full citation
• Translate an article (with attribution and a note that the translation is unofficial)
• Reproduce the article in a thesis, dissertation or institutional repository
• Use figures, tables or data in a presentation, with attribution
• Create derivative works such as reviews or meta-analyses that incorporate the content

What requires written permission

• Republishing the full article in a book, anthology or commercial print product
• Using an article or figure in a product you sell where the article is the primary product
• Reproducing artikle.in platform elements (logo, interface, branding) - these are not covered by CC BY 4.0
• Creating a derivative work that implies endorsement by artikle.in or the original author
