Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about publishing on artikle.in.

Getting started

What is artikle.in?
artikle.in is an affordable open access academic publishing platform designed for Indian students, PhD scholars, independent researchers and corporate R&D teams to publish their research with a permanent ArTKL identifier, receive an author certificate, and earn from paper downloads - at a fraction of the cost of foreign publishers.
Who can publish on artikle.in?
Anyone with original research can publish. We accept submissions from students (undergraduate and postgraduate), PhD scholars, independent researchers, and corporate researchers. Submission and review are free. Papers must be original, previously unpublished, and meet our quality standards.
Is artikle.in a peer-reviewed platform?
Yes. Submitted papers undergo double-blind peer review by qualified reviewers from the journal editorial boards. Papers are also checked for originality before review. We follow COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
Is my paper indexed?
Published journal articles receive an ArTKL identifier and, where registered, a DOI, which makes them discoverable and citable. Our pages carry Google Scholar metadata and an OAI-PMH feed. Indexing status of individual journals is stated on each journal page; we never claim indexing that cannot be verified.

Publishing fees

Is publishing on artikle.in free?
Submission and review are free. A publishing fee applies only once a paper is accepted; the current amount is shown on the Article Processing Charges page.
How are publishing fees charged?
The fee appears only after your paper is accepted. Payments are processed securely by Razorpay with UPI, cards and net banking, charged in INR. You see the exact amount before you pay.
Do I pay if my paper is rejected?
No. Review happens before any payment. If a paper is rejected, no publishing fee is charged.
Are there charges for revisions?
Minor and major revisions do not incur additional charges. Resubmitting a rejected paper is a fresh submission.

Submission & review

What file formats are accepted for submission?
We accept PDF, DOC and DOCX files up to 20 MB. PDF gives the most consistent formatting; Word files are converted during production.
How long does the review process take?
The originality check usually completes within a day or two. Once a paper enters peer review, the typical timeline for a first decision is 3-4 weeks. Revision rounds add time.
Can I submit to multiple journals at the same time?
No. Your paper must be submitted exclusively to artikle.in until you withdraw it or receive a final decision. Simultaneous submission is treated as a publication ethics violation.
How do I add co-authors to my submission?
On the submission form, add each co-author's full name, email address and affiliation. All co-authors should be aware of and approve the submission.
What similarity score is acceptable?
Papers with a similarity score below 20% are generally acceptable. Scores between 20-30% trigger a manual review by the editor. Papers above 30% are typically desk-rejected. Properly quoted and cited text is treated differently from unattributed copying.

Earnings & withdrawals

How do I earn money from my published paper?
If you choose paid download for your paper, readers pay the download price you set (default Rs.49) to download the PDF. You receive 80% of that fee in your earnings wallet; artikle.in keeps 20%. You can track earnings in your Earnings dashboard.
How do I withdraw my earnings?
Request a withdrawal once your wallet reaches the minimum of Rs.200. Withdrawals are paid by UPI or bank transfer from the Earnings page, usually within 3-5 working days.
What if I set my paper as open access?
Readers then download it for free and you do not earn download fees. Open access maximises readership and citations; paid download maximises earnings. You can change this from your paper settings.
Is earnings income taxable?
Yes. Earnings from artikle.in are income and may be subject to income tax under Indian law. You are responsible for declaring this income; we can issue an income statement on request.

Identifiers & certificate

When is my ArTKL identifier assigned?
An ArTKL identifier is assigned when your paper is published and is permanently linked to it. Anyone can verify it on the Verify page.
What is an author certificate and where can I use it?
The certificate of publication confirms that your paper was peer reviewed and published on artikle.in. It carries a number that anyone can verify online. Download it from the Certificates section of your dashboard.

Technical & account

I didn't receive my email verification code. What do I do?
