How the ArTKL Score works

The ArTKL Score is a composite, near real-time research quality metric designed to capture dimensions that traditional indices like Scopus CiteScore or the Journal Impact Factor do not measure.

Score components (version 2)

Each component is scored from 0 to 10 and weighted. A component with no data yet uses a neutral value. Scores are recalculated every day, and every paper page shows its own breakdown.

Peer review

20%

Submitted peer reviews and editorial acceptance. Imported papers and preprints score lower.

Integrity

15%

The similarity check: a fully original paper scores 10, a paper 50% similar or more scores 0.

References verified

15%

Each reference is checked against the Vordict research corpus: the share found, minus DOI mismatches.

Citations

15%

External citation counts and papers in the Vordict corpus that cite this paper.

Readers

15%

Views and downloads on artikle, on a logarithmic scale so early papers are not left behind.

Author credentials

10%

Verified ORCID, institution-verified paper and co-author ORCIDs.

Abstract and keywords

10%

A complete abstract of 150 to 350 words with 3 to 8 keywords.

ArTKL identifier

Every paper published on artikle receives a unique ArTKL identifier in the format ARTKL/2026/JCYB/0042: ARTKL (platform prefix) / YYYY (publication year) / JRNL (journal code) / NNNN (sequence). Anyone can confirm an identifier on the Verify page.

ArTKL Score vs other indices

Traditional indices measure citation impact retrospectively. The ArTKL Score measures publishing quality in near real-time, with transparency at every step.

For accreditation bodies

UGC, NAAC, CSIR, ICAR and other bodies can request verifier access to artikle's audit records - the peer review trail, originality results, author credentials and editorial decisions of every paper.
